  • Permits get filed, not checked. A booklet of carbon-copy permits proves a form was filled out, not that the fire watch actually stayed for the full post-work period.

  3. One permit for an open-ended job. Permits are time-limited for a reason; a permit that covers the week defeats the purpose.
